CWIF - 2015 - Sheffield
Ethan Walker stretching for that faraway hold in Sundays Semi Finals
The CWIF as its fondly known, or for those that don't particularly like acronims The Climbing Works International Festival, was held here in Sheffield a couple of weeks ago.
Contemplating her next move - Leah Crane in the Sunday night Finals
The event, now in its ninth year (I think) is an indoor (open) bouldering competition, held over a weekend in early March. Day one Saturday regularly see's hundreds of climbers attempting to qualify for day two, the Semi's and Finals which are held on the Sunday evening. It truly is a great event where you can find yourself literally rubbing shoulders with some of the best boulderers on the planet, namely Alex Megos and Shauna Coxey. I went along for the first time in along time to capture a few shots and along the way rediscovered just how much fun the event really is.
The CWIF is known for welcoming foreign climbers, here Dutch climber Jorg Verhoeven works out the moves

That ever important score card. Saturday qualifiers
